Official Contest Rules
Last updated: August 24, 2026
No purchase or payment of any kind is necessary to enter or win. A purchase or payment will not increase your chances of winning. Void where prohibited.
1. Sponsor
This contest is operated by Internet Friends Group, LLC (the "Sponsor," "we," "us," or "our"), the entity that operates the Opps app. Apple is not a sponsor of, and is not involved in, this contest in any manner.
2. Eligibility
Opps is open to individuals who, at the time of entry:
- Are 18 years of age or older.
- Are legal residents of the United States.
- Are not residents of Arizona, Iowa, or South Carolina. Prizes are not available in these states due to state-specific contest law. Residents of these states may still play Opps and earn XP, but are not eligible to receive a weekly prize.
- Are not employees, contractors, or immediate family members of the Sponsor, where such exclusions apply.
The list of excluded states may change over time as laws change. The current excluded list is Arizona, Iowa, and South Carolina. Void where prohibited by law.
3. How to Enter
Opps is free to enter. There is no entry fee, no purchase necessary, and no payment of any kind required to participate or to be eligible for a prize. To enter, open Opps and make picks on sports predictions. Correct picks earn XP within the current weekly period. Every user who makes at least one pick during the weekly period is automatically entered into that week's contest. No separate registration is required beyond normal use of the app.
4. Prize Description and Value
Each weekly period, Sponsor makes available a prize for the top XP earners for that week. A prize may take the form of cash, physical goods, or items or experiences provided by a sponsor. The specific prize for a given week, including its form, value, the number of places awarded, and how it is divided, is described in the Opps app for that period.
When the prize is cash, the pool is currently up to $250 per weekly period, split among the top 5 XP earners in decreasing amounts from 1st through 5th place. The pool amount and split are configurable and may be adjusted by Sponsor from time to time. Cash prizes are paid in US dollars via the payout method Sponsor supports at the time.
Physical or sponsor-provided prizes are fulfilled by delivery or as otherwise described for that prize, and a winner may be asked to provide shipping information to receive them. No cash substitution is offered for a non-cash prize except at Sponsor's discretion. Prizes are non-transferable.
5. Winner Determination (Skill-Based)
Opps is a game of skill, not chance. Weekly rank is determined entirely by the XP a user earns from making correct sports predictions during the weekly period. XP is calculated the same way for every user based on prediction accuracy. There is no random drawing, raffle, or chance-based element in determining winners.
At the end of each weekly period, users are ranked by total weekly XP. Only users who are prize-eligible under Section 2 are considered for the top-5 prize slots. Users who are not prize-eligible still appear on the leaderboard and may keep playing, but will not receive a winner notification or a prize for that period.
6. Winner Notification and Claim
Winners are notified in the app and may also receive a push notification where enabled. Prizes are claimed only in the Opps app. Opening the prize notification in the app takes you to the claim screen, where you provide the information needed to receive your prize.
The in-app claim screen is the only valid way to claim a prize. Requests sent by email, social media, direct message, or any other channel are not claims. They will not be processed, and they do not preserve or extend the claim period.
Winners must claim their prize within 7 days of notification. If a winner does not claim within this window, the prize is forfeited for that period. As part of claiming a prize, a winner may be asked to confirm their location and identity information consistent with Sections 2 and 8.
7. Void Where Prohibited
This contest is void where prohibited or restricted by law. Prizes are not available to residents of Arizona, Iowa, or South Carolina.
8. Taxes
Winners are solely responsible for any and all applicable federal, state, and local taxes on prizes received, including the fair market value of any non-cash prize. Depending on the total value a user wins in a calendar year, Sponsor may be required to collect a completed Form W-9 and issue a Form 1099 to the winner and to the IRS once winnings reach the applicable reporting threshold.
9. No Purchase Necessary
No purchase, payment, or fee of any kind is required to enter Opps, to earn XP, or to be eligible for a weekly prize. Normal data and device charges from a user's mobile carrier may still apply and are the user's responsibility.
10. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Sponsor is not responsible for technical failures of any kind, including malfunctioning software, lost or delayed data, or interrupted connections that affect entry, XP calculation, or prize payout. By entering, users agree that Sponsor's liability in connection with this contest is limited to the value of the prize at issue, except where such limitation is not permitted by law.
11. General
- These rules may be updated by Sponsor from time to time. The version in effect at the start of a weekly period governs that period.
- Sponsor reserves the right to disqualify any entrant it reasonably believes has attempted to manipulate XP, circumvent location eligibility checks, or otherwise abuse the contest.
- These rules are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
